Positive aspects:
An excellent hotel and everything was as advertised. The restourant at their sister hotel just down the street was excellent. The walk into town was not too long. Even late into the evening.

Positive aspects:
This is one of my favorite spots on earth - the Aventine Hill is just wonderful, quiet, calm, full of historic buildings and trees -- and the quietest place in Rome. The sound of a single bird woke us up one morning. The hotel is just great, large comfortable rooms, relaxed competent staff, great breakfast, great bathroom, very comfortable bed, just perfect.

Negative aspects:
a minor point: there is no ice machine anywhere in this building, so we had to walk to the adjacent hotel (owned by the same company) to get ice -- and they didn't even have an ice bucket, so we had to use a plastic bag. a minor point.

Positive aspects:
Wonderful location ... offers both a peaceful withdrawal from the crowds, but still close to everything. Wonderful staff ... always helpful, courteous and intelligent.

Positive aspects:
We stayed at the Villa San Pio. Had a large room with a terrace. The location -- a high-end residential district near the sites of ancient Rome -- was perfect. An oasis away from the tourist crowds of center city, yet close to a metro line and local restaurants. Beautiful garden for outdoor breakfasts and cocktails. Very friendly staff.

The room was comfortable with all the facilities promised. The food and service were excellent and the eating area outside a real bonus in the evening.

Positive aspects:
We actually stayed at the Hotel San Pio, as the Aventino (sister hotel) was closed. We found the San Pio an excellent hotel in a lovely setting - quiet and secluded. The rooms were very comfortable and the breakfast buffet was good.

Negative aspects:
A little distant from central Rome - but we knew this when booking. Nevertheless, it was only a 15 minute brisk walk to the Colosseum.

We were upgraded to Hotel San Enselmo up the hill-ugh tired having arrived from a wedding in Munich but were delighted with the hotel and staff. Walking distance to Forum. Beautiful room, service, and breakfast.Very tranquil beautiful area. Loved sitting outside for breakfasti in garden. Love to go again! Wished we could have stayed longer, my daughter and myself felt very safe here.

Accommodations were very nice. Breakfast was excellent. Near the Forum and Circus Maximus

To far from central transportation for travellers without automobiles. Expensive.

Positive aspects:
Excellent cleanliness in bedroom and bath. Extremely helpful desk clerks. Good, healthful breakfast. San Pio restaurant was a delight. Marvelous setting, beautiful linens, very crisp service and most importantly delicious food and wine. Would have been nice to have internet access provided by hotel. Many do.

Negative aspects:
Although well laid out, room itself left little space to move about in. Bed was good.
